DECT Phone with Non-Master Answer Machine
Discussion
Hopefully this will make sense...
I need a DECT phone with 3 or 4 handsets which has an answerphone capability but the tricky bit is that I want the answerphone bit to be on one of the "extensions" i.e. not the phone connected to the BT line.
The line comes into my office but we want the answerphone bit to be in the kitchen which is more accessible for everyone and where any waiting messages will get spotted more quickly. Alternatively a system that displays waiting messages on all handsets and allows playback from anywhere.
And before everyone says why bother with a landline... The MiL always calls the landline and if we are not there always leaves a message, otherwise I wouldn't bother with all this faff.
Any ideas or recommendations?

Our Panasonic 5 phone system displays on all phones that there are waiting answerphone messages and the messages can be listened to on any phone (& deleted, if required)
Ditto my iDect does the same. There is NO answer phone access on the main base unit.
IF the Op does require it on a charging station other than the primary base unit I think he will struggle.

Can't you put the answerphone wherever you want? Our line comes in the front hallway of the house and we have plugged the answerphone handset into the living room. There is no restriction that I'm aware of that forces the answerphone handset to go to one particular socket.
We could if we had phone sockets in every room, it's an old house and there is only one socket and I don't want to run wires everywhere hence the preference for DECT phones. TPSA7514 said:
