What is this, the 17th century?
So I woke up with an achey groin this morning (and not in a good way) and realise I have, what google is suggesting, a boil. Christ.
I've heard the way to treat it is to bring it to a head - and google suggests a bunch of things, from warm compresses to tea tree oil to praying to the old gods that your symptoms are not the sign of bubonic plague.
Any suggests? it's in quite a sensitive area and its a bit red and gnarly looking.

I had one in my quad many years ago, it was deep in the skin and took over a year to come to head when it burst I had a cheese like substance that came out like silly string this lasted about 20 minutes forming a ball of pus about the size of a golf ball, now left with a hole in my leg.
My brother had a boil on his arm. We had an aunt who, pre NHS, was seen as the local go to for medical help. She was the area midwife, although without qualifications. She put a bread poultice on it. It worked but my brother was in hospital for three days with the resulting eruption. His still has the scar some 65 or so years later.
I'd suggest that a visit to a pharmacist is a better idea than asking for medical advice from PH or, come to that, my aunt, well meaning as, no doubt, both are.

FFS, I am eating my lunch here !!In Roald Dahl's autobiography, Boy, there is a chapter called "Little Ellis and the boil". I have not forgotten it even though I must have read it over 20 years ago!

My brother had one, the size of a golf ball on his back. He left it for a year and then one day it erupted like Vesuvius and covered the wall in something that can only be described as Ektoplasm - By all accounts the smell was horrendous.
Cue, a large hole in his back and the bedroom needing redecoration.
He should have sought medical advice..
