hi all, found I have 2.5 volts on two of the three crank sensor wiring...sensor disconnected .. Should there only be one 2.5 ??, one earth, one for the signal from the crank returning to the ecu when the engine running

Without a wiring diagram I have no idea what wire you are testing.

But as a rule a sense will have a 5v feed a ground and a signal wire.

So go from battery earth to each wire, only one should be a good earth.

Only one should have 5 volts.

The signal wire can show anything between 1 and 5 when it's unplugged ao hard to identify, hence need for wiring diagram.

5volt feed sometime known as sensor reference voltage, is normally shared.with other sensors.

When you have a diagram yiu can see where you have it and where you don't and work out where the break / resistance must be.

Assuming your 5v feed really is 2.5 there will be a green corroded bit of wire somewhere.

I Am looking at the socket that feeds the crankshaft sensor, three wires one is earthed , one has 2.5 volts , and the other has 2.5 volts.

its back on the drive after two months away..so its engine has been rebuilt but now would start, turns over fine by hand /and starter .... so where next to look , cam sensor has been changed.

Was this fault solved. I am having the exact same issue on my T5.

Currently no faults on the ECU.

I have 2.5v reference voltage on Crank sensor and 2.5v common live common live injectors harness. I am assuming the ECU turn on the injectors once the timing is checked.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
