I've always fancied an LPG motor and starting to consider my next car, or potentially keeping my Lexus IS250 but making it more MPG friendly. Most of the cars I'm considering are direct (petrol) injection, which back in the day was considered incompatible with LPG, but I thought 'they' were working on it. What's the score these days with LPG for GDI? Presumably the petrol injector has to be convinced to also inject the LPG, rather than drilling and tapping for a new injection point into the cylinders somewhere (as per the approach for injection into the inlet manifold on non-GDI motors)?

Cars I'm currently considering are Jag F-type or Subaru Levorg (either 1.6 turbo (UKDM) or 2.0 turbo (JDM)).

Yes I believe it's possible to reuse the petrol Injectors to directly inject liquid lpg into the cylinder
At least I've heard of it being done it sure how common it is however

Yes they have introduced conversions for direct injection. Not 100% sure if they're suitable for all types of engines though. Have a look at the Prins website as they have some info on there.
