I am in the process of picking up some brand new AP Racing callipers (cheaply), CP6600, as fitted to the (later?) Tuscan’s, and have seen various threads on the fact it can be done, but not much detail.

Des anyone know where you might get a bracket for them? I’ve asked Reyland but not had a response.

Thanks!

I’m changing mine and the alloy bells to go larger and 5 stud, under 15” wheels it’s tight, 16’s would be better try HI Spec

I've got these on mine. They were fitted by a previous owner. The adapters are aluminium, probably machined from billet. As far as I am aware they came as a kit sold on the parts pages here, but we are talking about over 5 years ago now.

I will have a look over the history file tomorrow and see if I can find any detail. It is just a block of Al bolted to the Ford hub carriers and the caliper bolts on to the adapter 90 degrees off.

I'm next at the car on wednesday morning all being well, If you like I can take some measurements.

I would also advise, the CP6600 calipers used on TVRs were a different make to the standard CP6600 caliper. I found this out when I ordered replacement cross-pipes, gave the model CP6600 and found they were 10mm too short. The TVR caliper is wider.

Mine fit nicely in 17" wheels, I have 17s all round.

Lovely car! If you can take some measurements, that would be great, thank you. I didn't realise the TVR callipers were different, although I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Does that mean they can take a bigger disc?

I do have 16" wheels at the front, but am considering/looking at moving to 17" all round (either TD Pro Race 1.2 or some XXR wheels).

Thanks!

Hello,

Drop me a line.
Did quite a few brakeupgrades in the past with those calipers.
Maybe I can help you out.

Regards Hans.

I had a look at the history file and there isn't anything specific to the brackets, but they were supplied by Hansdaal above so it looks like you're in good hands.

In which case while we're on topic may I ask Hansdaal - for the 300 mm rotors, presumably these are 300 x 28 mm and so what's the minimum wear thickness? My rotors have a slight vibration under heavy braking and need either replacing or skimming, it's a question of whether skimming will be pointless or not vis. minimum remaining depth.

History information

I had the original calipers and they were on the original uprights, 2000 model. One upright was cracked and so needed replacing and this meant the calipers would no longer fit, hence I had to get the black ones with yellow in as seen on the Chimaera.
