Tuning box fitment on a early 2003 3.0d X5 181bhp model

Has anyone fit one of these diy tuning boxes on the earlier 2003 E53 pre facelift 181bhp 3.0d models?

I’ve bought cheap used X5 whilst looking for my next car and got one of these tuning boxes to plug in. The common rail sensor is located at the back of the engine and access is tight.

If anyone has plugged one of these in before on this model, is there a trick to getting access?

The car is cheap and the box was included in the car but never fit. Probably because it’s a pain in the a@@e to access.

I can’t see a garage wanting to get involved fitting one of these things..

Any help appreciated.
