Hi all,
I am hoping to do more track days this year and was hoping to buy a budget car to use on the track.
I am not a die heard track goer and would also use the car on the road from time to time, so wouldn’t want a fully stripped out/caged car but just something that I can throw about without worrying too much.

I have considered the usual suspects like Clio 1*2’s and EP3 Civics but am happy to listen to all ideas or recommendations.

My budget is £3k, but the cheaper the better.

Thanks in advance.

3k will just be the starting point as you'll want to get it fettled & track ready I'd say find the best Clio you can find at this price point you can just land a 197.

Thanks, yeah I am happy to spend more over time but I have just bought a Defender and that seems to be abit of a money sink and cost more than £3k...

Can you get a manual 6 cylinder BMW in budget? The most fun I had on track was in a e36 328i. Not the best or the fastest by any means, but much less to worry about if it all went wrong, which meant I spent more of the time enjoying myself.

Watch out for the second autotrader listing (AB08 RFK) according to www.rapidcarcheck.co.uk it's got mileage issues..

Looks like an input error, no?

Latest MOT lists the mileage as:
Mileage
No odometer

The listing says 86K, 3500 more than last year which would probably be about right.

Suzuki Swift Sport?

I recently bought a 2010 car with 80k miles and FSH for £800 that had been written off as Category N (Non-Structural damage) and have been prepping it over winter. You can get a good one for around half of your budget and spend the rest on some good tyres, brakes etc.

Yes it only has 125bhp but it's light, fun to drive, should be reliable and can only assume it'll be great fun on track too smile
