Mobile phone trouble/recommendation

My Honor 8X (which I love) won't work in the USA. It just will not connect to a provider. Honor customer support was pretty useless and I ended up using an old iPhone 4s that I took as a backup.

I'm off to Florida in August so that means a new phone, with at least the equivalent specs to the 8X.

Any recommendations? Looking to spend no more than £300. Not a fan of Apple, so android only please.

A lot of phones that aren't designed for or sold on the American market won't have the correct hardware to operate on the various bands they use in the States - you'd need to find out what bands are used in Florida and that any potential purchase supports those bands. Mainstream brands like Samsung/Motorola/Google/Oneplus will likely be fine as they're sold in the States but Chinese brands like Huawei/Honor/Oppo/Vivo etc won't as they aren't sold there.

You can't go wrong with the moto g series.

I'd be looking at a new g8 plus

Samsung S8 works fine in Florida (and elsewhere in USA)
