Hi all before I ring them to get their response thought I would ask here what you think. My car is now over 100k miles that means my BMW Extended Warranty which I pay monthly will now not cover wear and tear. In my mind logically everything that could go wrong from now on at that mileage could be put down to wear and tear so it could actually be a pointless waste of £58 a month, any thoughts most welcome cheers

I agree.

I actually had a warranty direct top tier warranty on one of my BMWs. To be fair to them they paid out on control arms etc.
BMW Norwich said they would have never covered that.

Hello Gizlaroc........conumdrum I do not want to replace this 5 year old car but I reckon I will have to sooner rather than later,I have too many variables at the moment to decide what to do ie mileage a year is one of them.

Looks like you’re only eligible for the Driveline cover, with the £5k claim limit ?

Be interesting to see how much that cover costs.

Fair point and thanks but was hoping for some leverage re my being with them for 2 years but probably as much chance of that as ...

I thought you could still have comprehensive over 100k, because you took out the warranty before the car reached 100k

"Please note that Comprehensive Insured Warranty is not available for vehicles with over 100,000 mileage (at the time of purchasing the warranty)."

wear and tear, however, as you said will no longer be covered. frown

I'd get a new (er) car.

I know you mentioned ‘estimate’... But would I be right in saying, that people who already have a warranty, get a better price than someone taking out a new warranty ? That was the impression I got from previous threads.

Hi all think people are missing the point and I will clarify .. top and bottom is this whatever type of warranty you have over 100k miles wear and tear does not apply so what is the point ,surely 100k miles is enough for them to say its all wear and tear.

I would call them and ask for a list of items that are considered 'wear and tear'?

The £5000 claim limit won't cover much.

Is it a 316i or an F10 M5 btw?

My 335i has 140k on it. Just had new turbos fitted under the warranty with a lot of extra work also covered. I would keep it running!
