I want to take a screenshot (if that's the right word) and copy it into an email.

How do I do this? I have been pressing alt and Prt Scr, windows logo and v, (when I do the windows logo and v the screen sort of blinks). Where is the image?

Is it on the clipboard? How do I get into it?

To state the obvious, I am not techie. Words of one syllable, please.

Thank you, in anticipation.

Cant you just paste from clipboard.
(Right click in your email body, select paste)
Alternatively,
1.take your kodak instamatic take pic of your pc screen,
2. take 23 more pics of the dog to use the film up,
3.bob down to asda and have film developed. They can put images on a cd.
4Select pic you want from the cd and attach to email.
If you have a smart phone you can delete stages 2&3 and select from your phone film roll

A very useful alternative is to use snipping tool(ST). Type this into your search box. Bring up the screen you want to copy. Bring ST to the front press "new" and then highlight the screen. When you release the mouse ST will have the image, just click on save and Robert's your mothers brother.

or to use Print Screen

Alt + PrtScn and then Ctrl + V to paste.

Thank you all.

What I have done is:-
Compose email
Click on paperclip symbol at bottom of page
One Drive
Pictures
Screenshots
Open

That seems to have worked.

Thank you.

- press print screen
- open up paint
- press ctrl+v (or paste in one of the toolbar menus)

done

alternatively
- open up windows starbar
- look for snipping tool (or search it)
- use snipping tool to select the area you want to get a screen shot of.
from there on you can do two things

1-save it, then attach it to your email

2- right click on the image 'copy'. then paste it into your email.

Just press Print Screen and then Ctrl+V in the email.

It really is not any more complicated than this, despite all of the above posts.

What version of Windows? If Windows 7 or newer there is Snip which is a bit better than Alt-PrtScr etc..
