I am looking to get myself a 2010-2013 e92 m3 in the next few months, not in any rush but I have been checking out some quotes and I am shocked at the astronomical figures they are giving me.

So I'm 23 with 3 year ncb and licence for 3 years - grant it I live near Canary Wharf in London and the car will be kept in a locked garage but I am getting 25k a year for insurance. That is more than the car LOL. I am currently driving a 140i and the insurance is 1.7k a year

Is there a problem with these comparison websites or do I need to move into the forest ?

£25k - lol. I replied to an old thread last week :- https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
My premiums doubled this year (though still way less than this) and I suspect it's because of more claims as it becomes a popular Used deal. Combined with <25years old means they don't want to insure you. Incidentally, the student who drove in the back of my S1 (it's now back from the garage in mint condition) had been driving for a whole week .. would love to see the quotes he is getting!

phone up various brokers. online comparison sites will only go so far. the fact you're less than 25 probably doesn't help.

That's got to be down to where you live. I'm in Bristol and at 25, my E92 M3 Comp was £850 for the year.

WOW about one of the only joys of getting old is insurance! lol

Im with LV and seem pretty competitive. Though mine is $370 but only for low mileage circa 6k a year (only manage 900miles last year..).
