Starting a new job with a longer commute approx 90 mile round trip 4 days a week. Currently have a 2.0 petrol volvo c30 which isn't very fast or economical.
Would like to treat myself to a new car that's comfy and enjoyable to drive. Initial ideas are octavia vrs, focus st or 320d.
Anything else I should have a look at?

How much do you want to spend? Will it need to be ULEZ compliant?

Between 15-20k, upto 3 years old. Won't be driving into city centers, never had a diesel before. Mpg around 40mpg would be fine.

Are you paying 15k cash, trade in or pcp?

330d m sport is worth a look. Several on autotrader under £20k with less than 20k miles. Finance on a used one looks like it’s around 360pcm. Love mine

You can have a brand new 530d M sport for 399pcm and 399 deposit on 10k miles pa from synter Bmw. Not sure for higher mileage but may be worth considering depending on purchase method. For reference, even if you have cash, £399x48 = 19152 so just put your cash in an account and set up a standing order to draw down.
