Cheap roomy white goods commuter

Ok some back ground.
Fun cars are covered so I'm strictly looking a low cost commuting/general duties car.
Keen on the £0-30 tax ones (although I'm not sure I can see these remaining unaltered by the government?)
Large boot wanted and covered so I can leave stuff in there not on show.
Current '04' Alhambra tdi shed is giving me ABS issues and I'm considering bailing (rattling DMF, no aircon).
Some options in an approximate low to high(er!) quality order (but newer/lower costs)
Dacia Logan
Fiat Tipo Estate
Volvo V50
Skoda Superb
It's fine if it's dull (obvious looking at the list!), equipment I don't care about, sort of in the £7K region ideally, eg Fiat at 30K miles vs Superb 80K
Happy to go older but I just think the Mpg and zero tax might mean the above are not a terrible economic choice? Going old and bangernomics generally always made sense but is it still? With all cars going to £145 tax + rpi over the years the zero tax thing might be a future selling point?
I'm soured by the recent banger issues hence the thoughts for newer replacements and it's been so long since I had a car without a decade of grime on it, perhaps it would be nice to have something to look after to a degree rather than nurse it through year on year? Is there anything obvious I'm overlooking (focus 1.0 ecoboost?) or do I need a slap and just repair the Alhambra/get another banger?
I'm veering towards newer/low quality for potential low term value, but I'm at a bit of a loss when looking at this area of the market, other than wanting a certain boot volume I've nothing to really narrow down the choice, or whether to favour the higher mileage better (at least perceived) quality, over lower mileage cheaper makes and models.

Having commented on a Mazda 6 thread recently, this springs to mind for this thread. Mazda 6 should fit the bill and the 150bhp version is £30 tax. Comfy, economical and mine's been pretty reliable so far after a scare with the turbo (vacuum pipes only). £7k should get you a reasonable example.

Ah thanks didn't realise these were low tax! thanks quite handsome even especially compared to my list!We have a 2015/65 plate Honda CR-V 1.6 DTEC; they are huge inside and easily accessible, does 50+mpg gallon; is utterly the definition of a white good and they are available for your budget
