New glasses, strange anomaly, does this sound normal?

Finally succumbed to the need for some glasses for the first time ever. Trotted off to boots (no idea if that was a good idea) for a free eye test.
Ended up confirming what i thought i knew, left eye is reasonable, right eye isn’t when driving/looking at projector screens in meetings etc.
Ended up being given a prescription of
right SPH -0.25 CYL -1.25 axis 140
Left SPH infinity CYL -0.25 axis 50
PD 65
Got a couple of pairs of glasses from them which initially felt great, and do definitely make distance better. A week or so later noticed that only my right eye seems to be “corrected”. Not that i walk around with one eye closed but i thought i should end up with broadly equal vision in both eyes? What then threw me even more was I’d got my glasses in my hand while talking to a colleague, and what just happened to catch my eye while at my computer was that looking through the lens intended for my right eye, backwards through the lens with my left eye was crystal clear, tried it at distance and it then looks like my right eye does when i look through the same lens the right way around when wearing the glasses normally.... wtf!
Question to those of you that have been wearing glasses for longer than a week or so, Is this type of thing normal, or have i got badly manufactured glasses?
I’d have said they’d made the lenses the wrong way around, but the right eye is perfect through the glasses, and the left eye is perfect the wrong way through the lens for my right eye lol...
I guess to distil it down, should my vision be equal in both eyes through the glasses?
