First aid course recommendations please?

Don’t wish to go into too much detail but on a lads weekend recently I had to remember a 20 year previous first aid training Course I went on and assist a friend who had fallen over & completely knocked himself out.
Talking to the ambulance staff afterwards seems my techniques of recovery position etc are a little out of touch.

I really want to do a course now and get myself trained & up to date as much as possible.

Can anyone recommend a good course for me to attend please? Been looking at St. John’s ambulance but happy for other recommendations.

I'd suggest SJA unless it's for a particular activity.

For example, you can do mountain/outdoor first aid course which might be more appropriate?

Yup, SJ’s is the benchmark - different length courses available depending on need too.

I’ve always been trained by SJA on their one week full time course - been a few years since my qualification expired but I’d still recommend them!

I do volunteer ride leading for British Cycling, we have a tailored first aid course for outside and activities based first aid. Its with SJA and It’s a bit more involved than the bog standard EFAW stuff, you might want to ask about that course.

I can also recommend the Red Cross, I've done that and thought it was good
