Storage for Winter
Discussion
I bought my 355 Spyder in May. Its been a great summer but I have other toys to play with thru winter. It seems that I can pay to have the car professionally stored for the winter and pay for this by suspending my insurance (obviously I will have to insure for fire & theft). Has anyone stored a Ferrari for a few months? Please share experiences, good or bad.
frostie ... where do you live, California ?!?
frostie is right though, they dont like it ... it causes more problems than it's worth. I use mine much less during the winter, but I still take it out on dry days (of which there are usually one or two every month) even if it's only just for a 20 minute spin to keep things working. I never try to go more than a couple of weeks without running the car ....

I'm debating this(with myself)at the moment, I'm thinking I'm going to buy a Smart car to use day to day & use the 348 on weekends.
This is purely because in heavy rain it leaks a bit and doesnt properly warm up until I'm almost at work so seems pointless. The only thing is I dont have a garage so it will be stored outside during the week under a cover, any likely harm from doing this?

Like the others here, I'll be using the cars over winter, and keeping all the seals nicely lubricated is all the excuse I need thanks. The real reason is that it would drive me nuts not being able to use them for months. The only thing I'm wary of is salt.
From what little I know about car storage, they keep the cars in a humidity controlled and secure environment, attached to a battery conditioner. I believe they also take it round the block every week or two if you want, and valet the car too. If you want to know more it may be better posting on 'general gassing' since I'm sure I spoke to another PHer who kept their car in storage.
