Advice Needed - Paintwork Damage?
Discussion
Hi all
Advice needed on how to remove some peculiar deposits on the paintwork of my car. I noticed these the day after parking in a (typically dingy) underground car park for two nights last weekend.
I'm guessing they're limestone or similar type of drips from wet concrete.
I have washed the car thoroughly with normal car wash/dry/buff type routine but this did little to remove the deposits.
I'm wary of doing any damage to the paintwork itself by trying more abrasive methods to remove. Tempted to take to paintwork professional but that will come with some potentially considerable cost.
Any advice welcomed - I know next to nothing about dealing with paintwork ...
Thanks!

Interesting. If it is indeed a limestone residue then wiping it with a mild acid would remove them. I'd start with a paper towel soaked in household vinegar and see if that softens them. If this does work then it will probably take any wax off the surface as well so you'll need to re-wax the car afterwards.
Keeping the car very clean and shiny will probably help such a problem from occurring again if you park there regularly.
