Karting during LM24 Weekend
Discussion
This year will be my 4th trip to LM24, in those trips I've never gone karting at the track they have there. I have some questions about it:
- when is it open during the LM24 weekend?
- do they breath test people before they drive? I don't plan on karting drunk but wondered about other participants?
- how much do they charge?
- how busy does it get? Was thinking of giving it a go on the Friday
Thanks!

All week. IIRC it opens at around 10:00 and is open until fairly late.

No. I expect you'd get turned away if obviously drunk but having done karting every year for ~8 years there have been a couple of times I've raced people and questioned whether they were actually just poor drivers or in fact were drunk. They're fairly hot on "poor behaviour" so I'd expect aggression and damage to be dealt with quickly however. In desperation for another 0.02s, I did once straight-line the last chicane (with the 6'' curbs) and they didn't take kindly to that.
FWIW I assume you're talking about the "real" kart track and not the wooden death-karts up by Terte Rouge. If you can crawl to the booth and crawl to a kart, they'd probably let you on them. Last year on Friday night I was up there and whilst karts were going round there was a Frenchman stick-welding the barriers with no mask (or other PPE) and no screens right next to the queue of punters. Five years ago one of our group went on obviously drunk, put his hand on the floor when he got hit and had it run over.
- how much do they charge?
It's €20 for 10 mins.

Friday morning you might be ok but by the afternoon it's a write off. It's brilliant on Weds and Thu morning however. I've never bothered to go on Saturday as I've somehow always had a conflicting arrangement.
