Photo check on driving license

Following on from the other thread on driving licences. Our 17 year old apprentice showed us his new drivers license (full) as he just passed his test . It looks absolutely nothing like him , I asked who was in the photo and his reply was “it’s me , but the photo was taken from when I was 10” it was the only passport photo he had at home left over from a passport application. He has no plans to do anything about it , and I guess he won’t have to change it for 10 years , so a 27 year old using a photo from when he was 10 !!!!
Do they actually check the photo ID , when I took my test there where no photos , just sent the green prov off and got a green and pink one back .I took a photo of it , and at our Xmas party , our if the 20 people that new him not one could tell it was him

I think you are supposed to declare if the photo still looks like you if you want to use the one on file with the passport agency.

Of course, in theory that photo could be just shy of 10 years old at the start of your new licence... just shy of 20 years at renewal.

The thing is I can’t believe anyone would use a photo of their 10 year old self (small child) on their driving license. It will bite him on the arse at some point I’m sure

I’m not sure if he’ll ever get in trouble for it as such.

However it demonstrates he’s a Pratt who can’t comply with simple rules/processes.

My photocard expired and they allowed me to use my 9 year old passport photo to get a new one. Stupid systems should be shown up so I applaud the bloke with a picture of him as a 10 year old on his licence.

Edit, the photo was 9 years old, I wasn't 9 in the photo.

If he Uses it and it’s refused citing a non likeness fair enough.
The photo on your licence is there to prevent fraudulent use of your licence, so used by anyone other than you for nefarious means.
He can quite legally use it as id as its him although he may be asked to prove its him etc

When I renewed my passport 2 years ago they used my photo of when I was about 18 off my driving licence, the licence has since been updated with a new photo but my passport photo is old now.

Back when I worked in a we shop, I knocked back several people with ID because it looked like a kid on the photo and absolutely no way to tell who was in front of me.

Infact when 17 we used to walk into every club with our learner license as the doormen dont even check the D.O.B. every Thursday for nearly a year to the £10 entry free bar all night club. Had some wonderful times there, filled with the loosest woman in town. Probably the best time as a teen that I smile about all these years later.

It's Scottish for littl.

Scots for little is wee. Somehow missing a "e" as is littl . Wee in Scots can also mean something else that perhaps the poster is trying to take
