Mark 7.5 GTD retrofit towbar?
Discussion
I have a retro fitted towbar on my 7.5 estate SE.
The dealer would have fitted one prior to collection, but it wouldn't be an official VW one, it would be a witter or equal but with VW wiring. The factory towbars on the 7.5 are retractable rather than detachable I believe also.
I went through a local company and had one fitted myself, I didn't go for the VW wiring but wondering if I should have (I think its £150 more).
The annoying thing with the non-vw wiring is that the Parking sensors don't switch off (when reverse is selected) which on the car operates the ACC/collision avoidance? So if you don't switch the Parking Sensors off manually the car does an emergency stop for you when you start reversing!
My previous SEAT Leon didn't have that so I just had the annoyance of the parking sensors beeping, no auto braking....
