I know there’s reams and reams of threads (if you can mix paper and e) on replacing the cats, but would someone be kind enough to give me a brief summary ?
I just need to know the basics, i.e bhp gain, do you need manifolds as well, worth the cost, does it need any ECU changes ?
I have my rear end in pieces so an ideal time to think about replacement.
Cheers

The reams of PH threads really do give a breadth of information which is hard to beat.Worth spending a few minutes finding and reading as many opinions as you can before deciding.I just need to know the basics, i.e bhp gain, do you need manifolds as well, worth the cost, does it need any ECU changes ?

In brief, lots of BHP gained, no need for manifolds, good value for money, possibly no ECU changes. The noise generated may be an acquired taste.
All above IMHO.
Someone else may tell you the complete opposite.

I recently had these fitted to my v8v along with a remap, airbox mod and 3 way exhaust switch (done by BR). I just need to know the basics, i.e bhp gain, do you need manifolds as well, worth the cost, does it need any ECU changes ?

The 200 cell cats make the car a lot louder. I think the noise is fantastic, but I don’t use my car daily- and importantly have the 3 way switch which can turn everything down if needed.
I also have the remap and the airbox mod, but overall it’s transformed my car. Throttle response is massively improved, lots more noise (when wanted) and another 20-25hp which is noticeable at low town speeds and at the top of the Rev range.
With just the cats- you’ll get an improvement in throttle response, some extra power and a lot more noise. If you have fuse 22 out currently, you might need to put it back in or get a switch.
Hi,
I have 200 cel cats on my 4.3 V8V, as previously mentioned it does make the car sound great but you may not always want the noise so a switchable solution becomes more important. CC charger is what I use.
I fitted them myself, it's not difficult but does need an ECU remap to avoid emissions lights, see below video from BR explaining this very well.

Overall noticeable improvement in performance and a great addition to the car.

Things move fast in AML land !
Now have a pair of 200 Cell cats on the way thanks to a very kind PHer.
Just got to get the old ones off.
Anyone know the best way to attack that pesky nut at the top of each flange ? Don’t particularly want to remove the manifolds at this stage...
Cheers
