Arnage/Indianapolis and Mulsanne during Le Mans
Discussion
Have driven to Mulsanne a couple of times for night laps during the Classic events (pain to get to).
For the main race we do fancy a trip to Arnage/Indianapolis.
Believe entry is included in Gen Admission tickets but can see Parking tickets for sale on ACO site.
Can drive via Arnage village I believe or pay extra and get minibus trip down(Sat night) if spaces from site we are on.
Does anybody normally drive there and is it worth the hassle or is parking normally full. Looking at Saturday night or possibly qualifying on Thursday

When I went with Thomas Cook there was an option to get a coach tour that left the campsite at 1am and spent around an hour each at Arnage and Mulsanne. Got back close to 4am.
My highlight of the week was watching the cars scream along the straight on the exit of Mulsanne in the pitch black.

Arnage/Indianapolis is superb now they have rebuilt the spectator banking. I've driven out to both the distant corners at night.
I found the best way was to go down the eastern side of the circuit rather than negotiating the traffic and pedestrians round the back of the stands and through to Arnage town. From the eastbound D323 dual-carriageway (Voie de la Liberte) take the D304 south (the signed diversion for Tours whilst the circuit is in use) as far as the roundabout at Bois Martin then take the D92 (Route de Raudin) and D140 ter (Route de Mulsanne) to arrive at the roundabout at Mulsanne.
To get to Arnage corner from there take the D338 south for about 2km and take a right on to the D212 bis and then right again in another 1.5-2km onto the D139.
Never had a problem getting into the parking at dead of night with only a Parking Rouge ticket. Might be more of a problem during the day.

The atmosphere at both Indianapolis and Arnage is electric at night and my favourite part of the circuit (particularly the fast approach down to Indianapolis). One of my favourite race memories was back in 2017 when the RSR’s raced with ‘that’ exhaust. Get the timing right and you could hear the car from hard accelerate at Arnage all the way down to the Porsche Curves. The free bus service takes you to both corners and back. it’s super busy and a bit of a fag to get to but well worth it. Bike is a good shout as the traffic is nose to tail and slow.
I've done Arnage a few times via the free shuttle bus and while it used to be a bit crap when it departed from the main entrance it's been much, much better the last couple of years, departing from the 'field' just outside the circuit at the Porsche curves. The last couple of years you've been able to track the buses too, using the Zenbus app.
yep, tradition is now to watch the first few hours at the Porsche Curves, then get bus to Mulsanne for an hour or two, then Arnage as the sun starts to set. Never had a problem with the shuttle buses, route is a bit round the houses but they seem to be regular enough and no massive queues
Well as the Irish say, "If I was going there I wouldn't be starting from here". So where are you starting from? If Maison Blanche or Bleu you have two choices to get to Mulsanne, and neither are easy. Go south to the roundabout near Beauséjour, turn towards Arnage but before getting there turn left doubling back on yourself to Arnage corner. Park there for Arnage or follow the road until you can turn left to Mulsanne. The parking entrance will be on your left. The other way is north under the bypass, turn right and go past past parking Blanc, right at the end to Tertre Rouge, and then it becomes a nightmare. Under the underpass, left onto the ring road, off at the next exit marked Parigné l'Eveque, on to the next roundabout taking first exit to Ruaudin and from there to Mulsanne, where you arrive near the Mulsanne roundabout. Go straight across paralleling the Mulsanne to the next small roundabout, turn right, straight across at the next roundabout and bingo, you are a couple of hundred yards from the Mulsanne parking entrance. Take the southern route if I was you. There is no easy way, but the compensation is that at Mulsanne there are two bars and a pizza house.
