A small observation...,,

Approved used cars for sale at the turn of the year nudged 2000 cars, clearly a few pre-reg vehicles to boost sales figures. Cars for sale today circa 1260 - great start to the year!

Availble number of cars has dropped noticeably. What I find frustrating with the new search engine is that you can no longer specify the search to include demonstrators, which use to be possible.

Hmm, they are now competing with BMW and Merc, no longer a special car IMO.

There are a lot of nice cars in the market at the moment ... yes Porsche are good but they certainly do have a lot more competition than ever before.

Maybe it's fewer SOR cars ?

I popped into P Leeds this afternoon and they had 3 or 4 x Gen 2 991 GT3RS' and 2 x 718 GT4's ....

I would love a 718GT4RS if they will take my money but am very happy with my modified 981GT4 and find myself drawn to Honda NSX / Lotus Exige 410 / R8 / Alpine / McLaren 650S / to mention nothing of some of the offerings from AMG / Jaguar / ... even some of the rarer BMW stuff ...

Am I also a troll ? I have four Porsches ... with a total age of over 100 years ... so I would claim to be a longstanding enthusiast.

Could it be a number of existing owners who would of normally replaced their car with new and px their existing are now holding tight, if so this would effect used stock levels?

From what I understand the car market as a whole is very quiet at present.

Happy for porsche to take my deposit for a new GT3 or GT3RS in these ‘quiet’ times but as i don’t change cars often enough for them, 4 yrs plus I'm obviously not the customer they want wink

Surely offloaded a fair chunk of those to auction rather than have them sitting around?

My OPC had a record month in January apparently....also heard the independents have been busy after having a genuinely shocking Q4.

It looked like it. One priced up in the showroom and one outside next to three 991 Gen2 GT3 RS' ... I suppose it could have been a customers car for delivery ?

I said it seemed a lot, the salesman said they bought them to sell ...

Bought them off the sales directors wife lol

The touring at lei is a sytner directors car, it’s all insider dealings.
The speedster is on del miles so never left the dealer.

I run a main dealer and this year has started very well. As a group we went over budget by a lot at 95% of the 48 showrooms in the UK. Ok not Porsche, but we have most of the main stream franchises with a few prestige brands.
2020 is looking good so far.

I do hope it continues ... we have seen a few historically good dealers driven out of the market ... and I don't believe that they all started out as crooks.

I also wouldn't mind if the value of my little collection didn't tank !

What’s do you think will happen to the Porsche car market now we have Covid 19 with us for a few months.

I have have my perfect spec 911 Carrera T reserved for purchase..... but should I go ahead?

Is the bottom going to fall out of the market?

Or are enthusiast Porsche’s so specialist they will not be as effected as run of the mill cars...?

So should I spend £70k now or not?

Please advise.

Thanks

IMHO you’d be bonkers to buy just now - you can’t even drive it for at least three more weeks anyway!

I don’t think a Carrera T will hold up better than anything else to be honest. I think if you said to your OPC I’ll go through with the deal and I’ll pay £65k they would be mad not to do the deal. I think in three months that car is worth less than that but if its your dream car its your dream car.

Thanks for the advice.

This is actually a private sale and the deal was done a month ago, just before the s**t hit the fan.

I want the car..... but I don’t want to get screwed if the prices crash in a few months time?

So do I just lose the £500 deposit and wait a few months?

What would you guys do?
