The real answer is not what we think, but the fact you are asking suggests you probably have concerns - as would I.
Additionally I would be more worried about where are they going to park it - if they don't have their own car-park then are you are going to have it parked in a public car park somewhere ?

Hi
I have to take a trip to Cambridge and finding a hotel in the centre with self parking appears to be impossible. Instead Valet parking seems to be the order of the day. Do you guys trust valet parking at hotels like Hotel Du Vin etc?
thanks
Josh
I've never understood valet parking. They have insurance for £50,000*. If they burn out your clutch - how do you claim? If they wreck a car worth more than £50,000 - do you lose your no claims?I have to take a trip to Cambridge and finding a hotel in the centre with self parking appears to be impossible. - £50,000 based on a chat with a valet parking guy. Your mileage might vary...
The Hilton Doubletree has it's own attached car park https://cambridgehotel.co.uk/
Depending on what day you are going, there are a few spots just along from Hotel Du Vin by browns bistro that you can park in, Sat after 6:30pm I think is free parking and Sunday metered from 1030? but you could always just nip down and put money in the meter.

However if not happy on the road, personally I suppose I would check in, then go and just stick it in a quiet corner in the Grafton and walk back to HDV.
I think Gonville has some spots directly outside the hotel as well.. but you may have to reserve, I’m sure you would have no problems with a Vanq!

ETA can’t book at the Gonville, and I would also ignore the advice on the Queen Anne car park down the page, you really won’t want to try and navigate a vanquish round there, would probably come out with more scrapes than if you had gone Valet in the first place!
Cambridge and cars don’t mix well at all!

Nope. Remember Ferris Bueller,,,?
It astonishes me that performance car manufacturers think about valet access and have separate keys or settings that don't allow access to boot/glove box, yet don't think to incorporate performance restrictions (say max 2500 rpm, 20mph). I always get nervous about ground clearance with the Vanquish too. Last thing I need is a valet not realising how low the front splitter is (often well below kerb height).
As a result tend not to use city centre hotels unless 1) they have their own car park; and 2) I know I'm going to be arriving quite early so that I stand of choosing a space that gives enough clearance for door; or 3) it's one I'm a regular at and can probably get them to leave it out front. That said, even some country hotels have crappy parking arrangements and wife thinks it's a bit tragic that I check google satellite images before deciding which car to take.
Might be tempted with my TVR: if they can get in it and start it, they can park it! Probably the best way to make sure it stays out front...

I was thinking about this when you see the high end performance cars that arrive in some of the flashier hotels in places such as Monaco. Quite often these days, with electronic handbrakes, a variety of flappy paddle gearboxes, low clearance, odd opening doors etc. I wonder how much preparation they have to be able to park some of the cars you probably need a few hours with just to work out how to drive the thing! Only a few years ago, the limit of quirkiness was the electronic pull handbrake on Mercedes, otherwise most things (even supercars) were just a progression on a normal car.
Hi there
Having been a 15 plus years lurker on these forums I am,finally, making my first post. Although I note you have now resolved your parking "problem" (something I can certainly empathize with), I would have been more than happy for you to have parked your vehicle on my property in Hinxton, a small village about 7 miles from Cambridge, and use it as a safe place to have left your car.
