First gear jumping out when cold

Well sorted IMS RMS Clutch, water pump (all Oct 2019), excellent maintenance history, a very good runner.....except
When cold first gear tends to disengage, other gears are OK. and car is perfectly driveable. I wish to keep the car and don't mind throwing a bit of cash at getting the gearbox sorted.
My questions are:
-How much would a full rebuild cost (approx) at a reputable Porsche Independent (North East)
- Would this be absolutely necessary, or
- Could just the first gear be fixed and approx cost ( assuming all else found to be in good order
Thanks

I would also recommend Mike - but just to explain - the gear lever does NOT push the gear selector in so far that it stops when the gear is fully engaged - because older gearboxes that are like that result in you feeling the gear stopping and feel a little clumsy.
These gearboxes restrict the movement of the gear selector fork so it stops just before the gear selector dogs are fully engaged and springs and pawls throw the gear into position for the last small distance resulting in a lovely feel to the gearbox.
Sometimes the springs weaken and most gearboxes seem to have a slight miss-alignment so that the stop positions is not central and as things wear the stop isn't quite far enough to allow the springs to send the selector into full engagement.
So it is possible to adjust the movement to improve things but if the parts are worn or the springs too weak they need to be replaced.
I am sure Mike will sort it out for you anyway.
