Hi Guys,

Well I've only had the car for 3 days now but whilst I'm still on a real high I thought I'd share my thoughts with you all. I'm sure most of this has been said before but tough, I can't stop talking about it and maybe this will persuade someone on the cusp of buying to take the big leap :D

I've uploaded a pic to my profile or take a look here:

http://www.marksdomain.org.uk/tvr/tuscan1.JPG

Basically there is nothing I really like about this car, only things I love

[pic]http://smiley.onegreatguy.net/thewave.gif[/pic]

First off I love how it looks. The shape, the colour (reflex purple), the 18 inch wheels. All superb! (IMHO of course, I'm sure everyone thinks there's looks the best and thats the way it should be). Personally I think the 18s finish it off perfectly so when I was looking around I wouldn't consider a car without them. Yummy. At the dealership you see lots of Tuscans / Cerbs / Chimaeras etc and you kind of get used to it. But wait til its parked up next to a bunch of "normal" cars and the visual impact is huge. Filling up with petrol yesterday I looked out the window and just thought "OMG that looks amazing", then I noticed the rest of the queue were all standing and staring at it too.

The next thing you notice, the sound! Awesome! Some kind of sports exhaust is to thank here, no idea what type except I know its steel and has a blue (titanium?) effect. Answers on a postcard please. On the way home from the dealership I kept playing a game which went something like this:

1) Dribble along at 60-70 in 5th gear
2) Get mate in passenger seat to phone a family member / friend / colleague
3) Mate starts chatting "yeah I'm in Marks new car, can you hear me ok..."
4) At which point I drop to 3rd and apply pressure to the go pedal while mate starts shouting "no, sorry can't hear you, bye"

And repeat. Hopefully I'm not the only one to be so juvenile!

Also, it just gets better and better - I found out yesterday I can set car alarms off with liberal use of the right foot. Fantastic (but with power comes control and restraint, remember that kiddies). All cars on the road should sound like this.

The details. Right from now on other manufactures should take note. Metallic swivel dials are the way forward. I love twisting things to wind down windows. I love a digital display telling me to behave because the oils not hot (and about that, whats a good point to rag it and whats the normal operating range, I'm going on 70+ to rag it and anything above 100 is bad... suggestions please!) I love the little whirr the fuel pump makes when it starts up. I love the buttons to open the doors, and that when I click some buttons they don't
do anything but TVR left them in anyway.

Basically I LOVE this car.

Gotta go now, all my mates are coming round to have a look :D

Cheers,
Mark

nice one, but lay off those buttons, someones garage door has probably been flying open and shut for no apparent reason

Well done for taking the plunge!

Only had mine for a couple of months, but it just keeps getting better and better

Always kinda humbling when you push the LOUD pedal, like it's just playing with you, and a feeling like you'll never get used to (or bored with!) all that performance!

Still see it from a distance and think "damn, what a car!", then get a funny tingle when I remember it's MINE!!!

Its great to see someone loving a tuscan and shouting about it. (To many bad comments on forums.) I,ve had mine for 1 week and lovin it more every day, except friday when the batt was flat, had to ring mate to pick me up. Took some stick about it to.
Amazed at the response from jo public, folks want to come over and ask about car, Parked near ferrari today and stole the show. Drove the missus to a curtain shop and waited outside in car, girls on checkout were busy discussing flash motor in carpark and the apparently rich bloke sat in it, "marks out of ten?" asked one.. "Oh wow TEN" replied another,"what for ,bloke or car?"...."bloody hell, the car". Made my missus chuckle.
Any how , be pleased to compare notes in the future, hope all goes well. DS.

PS Just had a look at pic on your profile and it does look bloody gorgeous. (almost as nice as mine!!)

OMG you're telling me! Almost everyone has been turning to look when it drives by. Coming out of the petrol station across 2 lines of traffic the other day one guy stopped the first line and flashed me out just to get a better look. I don't think I've ever seen anyone in London do that.

And completely agree its good to be positive, after all we did buy them for a reason right? So get some pics of yours up then!

Mark

P.S. Just noticed I seem to be Mr Chatty recently... must calm down and get used to a quieter forum than the civic type-r forum where I got 5 replies about the Tuscan 3 minutes after posting a pic at 5 to midnight on a sunday

Wonderful to hear these positive posts.
Had my Mk 1 for 4 months now and still love it to bits. I have lost count how many times I look at it and think - this is the best looking car EVER.
I have also lost count of the number of people that shout "nice car mate" and stop me in car parks to ask about it.
The best thing was in France about 3 weeks ago. Virtually stopped the traffic and even Monsieur Le Gendarme stopped the traffic in one town to let me out so he could have a better look at it. Gave me a Gallic thumbs-up.
The Tuscan Mk 1 is an amazing car and I actually prefer the looks to the Mk 2.
