Db9 number care
Discussion
Adding anything below the bumper will just make it even lower. As the bumper is fairly rigidly mounted, the bumper flex reduces any lasting damage apart from paint scuffing. When I first got my DB9, I siliconed a thin "V" shaped rubber trim under the bumper to give some protection, that would detach if grounded hard but would give an audible warning of the scrape before the bumper itself grounded. From memory, it was the bumper rubber from a 1996 BMW 850CSi.
I have since installed a DBS front with the CF splitters so have to be even more careful now.

When I had mine I bought a purpose made aftermarket strip which fitted underneath and acted as a sacrificial strip. It was around 5-10mm thick and you couldn’t see it when fitted as it used the same screws as the bottom edge of the bumper. I’m sure that I found out about it on a thread here maybe 7 years ago so maybe a forum search will bring something up?
