Hi All

Maybe a simple answer but how do you guys attach the bezels? Mine rattle at the top, they have the stuck in studs x 2 at the bottom with penny washers and nuts but it looks like it had an old blob of mastic or blue tac at the top?? Now I know that TVR were innovative but......!

Any peals of wisdom accepted!

Thanks

Chris

A blob of Sikaflex EBT and hold it in position overnight. Any flexible polyurethane bond will do, Sikaflex is sold by ScrewFix so it's easy to acquire. Don't be tempted to try silicon sealers, they don't have sufficient surface adhesion

Its how TVR did it Chris, what you've found is perfectly normal yes

Every Chimaera will have:
  • A double stud/nut/washer arrangement at the front of the bezel
  • The addition of a blob of polyurethane sealant/adhesive between the two studs
  • A heathy serving of polyurethane sealant/adhesive along the top edge

I recommend Puraflex 40 high modulus polyurethane sealant/adhesive from Toolstation, its very good quality and only £5.28 a tube.

If you remove all the polyurethane sealant and cable ties from a TVR.... it'll fall apart hehe

You require one blob on top, cowl is retained by the retaining bolts not the mastic.

Did mine last year. One blob was enough. Make sure all the headlight adjusters and retaining bolts are well greased!
