I got bought a set of Urbanista cordless ear buds for Christmas and they have been nothing but bother.

They set up OK and worked fine with my phone. I say fine, i mean OK. I got a bit of drop out but i guessed never having had them before, that was what they did.

The problem is outside. As soon as i step outdoors the left ear starts dropping out to the stage where they're useless.

I tried resetting re-pairing etc, but the same problem. I have tried them using several devices android and apple and the same thing happens.

The shop swapped them and i have the same issue. Outside, the left ear drops out. Urbanista sent me the reset instructions, which i followed despite them being the same instructions in the manual and online.

If you remember Norman Collier, its like that.

Today I got so frustrated I tried putting the left bud on upside down. Not very comfortable but it somehow cured the problem.

I keep thinking I'm doing something wrong. I can't find any bad reviews online. I've looked up fixes for my phone, cleared cached data, the lot.

Is it normal to have to faff about with these things every time i want to go out? With most tech I see the advantage. I can't see what cordess ear buds do that conventional wired ones do. I've never found the wire a problem. They are by definition plug and play. They don't need charging up.

I'd be interested to hear suggestions, thoughts and solutions.

For info, the devices i have tried it with are:

Huawei P20Pro

iPhone 7 or 8

Samsung Note (i forget the model but its big screened and quite new)

I would suggest getting your money back and buy something else.

Might be an idea, if you can, to try another BT headphone with your devices just to make 100% sure there is a local problem.

My wife and I both have wireless earbuds (Sennheister and Jabra) with no dropouts at all.

Yes I was looking at a cheap set the other day. About £20. It could be worth a go. I'm tempted to just buy a good brand with a big wire on the end.

I feel really bad. My wife got me them as a little surprise because I'd mislaid my old buds on a wire and was missing them on my long walks. (Now found). I'm not sure what they cost but i don't imagine they were cheap.

If its any consolation I have some JBL 650 BT headphones which are ace but when connected to my Samsung S8 and I get a WhatsApp group message the notification repeats non stop.

The other day I turned my headphones off when I got to work at 8 and when I turned them back on at 5ish the notification started up again! The only way to resolve is to reset my phone.

Bluetooth is not that strong of a connection. Where is your phone in all of this? Is you hand or another body party covering it up?

I've tried it in coat pockets, carrying it, back pockets.

It works fine in the house. I can be a room away from the phone and its fine. The moment I step outside it goes wrong.

Even if they worked, I'm still wondering what the advantage is over buds on a wire.

That is strange.

I couldn’t go back to wired buds now, I think fully wireless buds are fantastic. Use mine several hours a day.
