Check how much a pair of new, say, Hella or Fiamm horns cost, then get down the scrappy and see how much they charge for the twin horns from a BMW or a Merc.

Find somewhere to bolt them and wire them through a relay.

Or just buy new. Ebay optimists seem to charge more for the second hand ones!

I bought a pair of Hootaz dual tone horns. Small enough to fit behind the top fairing. They sounded like a decent car horn. When mounted properly (allowed to vibrate) and relayed from the battery on my Fazer they made the MOT tester jump when he tested the horn.

Many bikes seem to have the same, feeble, single tone horn fitted.

The denali sound bomb (I think that's the name) gets decent reviews, bigger than the usual though.

Two cheap horns from halfords, one low tone and one high tone. Wire them in parallel.

Use the existing horn wiring to switch a relay, and use the relay to deliver battery voltage direct to the horns.

It'll come to 10 or 12 quid and about half an hour, might be slighlty more expensive if you have to buy wire and connectors and a crimping tool.

Big horns can be difficult to position on a bike.

I've had Fiamm air horns on a car, but they are difficult to fit to modern cars with little space under the bonnet/behind the grille.

I've heard two denali sound bombs wired in parallel and it was deafening. I went for the denali soundbomb mini and it's awful. Lower tone but certainly not louder than the factory horn despite the promises on the packaging...

Did you use big cables relayed from the battery?

Where are you riding that needs for these horns? Do you actually use them?

The Denali soundbomb mini is plug and play. The full fat one is via relay and is meant to be better. I read good reviews about the mini but hasn't turned out to be the case for me.

I used my horn frequently. If you live in a city, they are very useful.

I would test it linked direct to the battery.

I've got a Chinese knockoff Soundbomb on the RT, I originally had it on the old TDM commuter too. I'm pleasantly surprised that it's still going a good few years later. I'm sure it was less than £20.

Wired through a relay and on the RT I found somewhere under the front fairing to hide it away neatly.

Gets used in London a few times a week and never fails to deliver the required wake up. It's effin loud. Much louder than a twin car horn setup. I've had other bikers comment on it and ask where I got it.

I fitted one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283714298185 as I use my horn a lot riding through Birmingham traffic with every second vehicle an Uber driver with no clue what they're up to. Seems to get their attention and was a direct replacement for the OEM fitment on my Tiger Sport. Cheap, too!

Good luck, but from my experience you'll be wasting your money...

When you get it, test it with the oem horn wiring and with wires touched direct to the battery.

There may be a noticeable difference. If so, use a relay to switch the horn, with heavier gauge wire from the battery via the relay.
