Chimaera at auction
Discussion
I attended the Brightwells classic car auction yesterday. The green 1996 Chimaera received a top bid of £6800:

It had a lot of stonechips on the front which is not difficult to rectify and otherwise looked a very good car. No pas may have put a few off but the sales overall were subdued. Brexit? Coronavirus? E10 fuel? Multiple issues, but the guide price had been £9500 - £10,500. Not sold, unsurprisingly. The seller could sell it private for much more I'd have thought, and not have to pay the auction house 5% commission + VAT !
There may have been something I was unaware of, and the cars are sold static, but I had expected substantially higher bids. In November this one reached £8100 + buyers premium = £9072:

Don't shoot the messenger, I'm reporting what I saw. I think these cars seem undervalued again, perhaps the debacle in South Wales is more widely known now?
