Hi Folk

Looking for some help, as this is baffling me.

Tv, Virgin V6, Sonos Playbar all happily working together for years.

This morning, I cannot get any sound from the system. The Sonos app say TV Unsupported Audio.

The V6 connects to the TV via HDMI. I have checked all menu options and everything is set as you would expect.

I am truly stumped, and have no idea who to call Sonos or Virgin?

Netflix works fine from the TV app out to the playbar. Netflix audio does not work via channel 204 using the V6. So I guess it is a Virgin issue?

Anyone got any bright ideas? Typically I am couch bound and off sick with Chronic Pain and really would like this resolved before I go barking mad!

Check the source isn’t Dobly. Sonos is not very fond of it.

I think that the previous post is on the right track, but the problem is not with Dolby sources, it’s with DTS. Sonos wouldn’t pay the licence fee, so their products can’t decode DTS audio.

Google “SONOS DTS” to find out more, but the nuts and bolts are that you’re restricted to non-DTS audio.

I think that Sonos may well be the only company in the AV world trying to sell people surround-sound equipment that can’t actually process half of the stuff that people might want to send its way.

It's infuriating. Especially if you spent a ton of money on soundbar, rears and a sub in what they call the "home theatre package" (their words, not mine) only to be told later that DTS tracks don't work and you have to listen in 2.0 stereo instead.
