BMW 520 GT or BMW X3 (both 2012)
Discussion
Ladies and Gents,
I need to replace the family Lexus RX400h and currently I cannot see past a 2012 BMW X3 SE Xdrive or a 2012 BMW 520GT.
Has anyone experience of both? What do you prefer? Same year, same miles, same engine...
For me,
X3 is higher and has 4 wheel drive - wife has bad back so easier to get in/out and the 4x4 we drive to the Alps every year for skiing. We are used to a SUV..
520GT, assuming this is more the limo so quieter more refined over distance, raised seating so not as low as a standard car (wife's back).. and who needs 4x4 with winter tyre's and chains.
we have teenagers so rear space and load space is important..
would appreciate thoughts..
cheers Jason

The 5er GT has a 7er chassis under it, so its at least 2 classes above the x3 in terms of ride refinement. Some find tge loojs challanging, I think it was a decent effort, and in todays terms it actually looks all right. The boot space is a bit tight, but rear seat area is cavernous.
Probably an amazing value for money, totally underlloked.
I'd go for tge 5er GT anyday.
