car has started creaking like an old tanker when turning

let me start this by saying the car failed in the past on Offside rear subframe mounting prescribed area excessively corroded significantly reducing structural strength inner outer cill holed (5.3.6 (a) (i)). now according to the dvla website, a few weeks later the car went through mot again and passed everything so assuming this was all fixed?

anyways.. had the car for about 6 months now and what started off as creaking when turning the wheel, when car was stationary has now turned into creaking whenever i turn the wheel driving and not driving. is this something to do with what the car failed it's mot on? but then.. it passed a week later, so should have been fixed?! either way, I'm not sure why car has started creaking so much when turning.

Sounds like a strut top bearing to me but could be anything, internet diagnosis is lucky dip.

Noise could be a snapped front coil spring, quite common with our roads how they are now, people often don't notice for months, sometimes it's only spotted by MOT testers. They get moved around when you turn the steering even when stationary and if the two ends aren't connected they'll rub together and move about in their seats. Unlikely it's anything from the back end if it happens stationary, although obviously that does depend on what car it is, some have rear wheel steering

I'd be wanting to either check myself or have someone else check the corrosion repair, best done before buying it really but we've all been there.
