Has Anyone Ordered the New Defender 90 Yet?

I see the configurator is now live -

Clearly it’s in another league to the ‘classic’ Defender, and no doubt the Grenadier will address that market.
Options, Packs and pricing are a long way removed from the old model, but I can see the appeal of the 90 over the 110, although hard to put a decent one OTR for less than £50k

Depends what you're comparing against...
I would suggest your starting point is the 16" steel on the old Defender where as I'm guessing '595' is comparing against the ally options on the new car.

Where does everyone think the prices will be after two or three years? A mid-spec S petrol 90 is showing as £27k future value after two years and £25k after three (on a £48k list price - no discounts to be had?) if using PCP. Effectively the monthly payment amortised is over £800 a month with those figures. Is it safe to assume they may hold their value better than that?

Discounts - It's a brand new model, so I doubt it.
Future value - Given the current climate, I'd suggest all bets are off.

I’ve not long got out of a new Suzuki Jimny used as a second car, where after a year it was sold for several thousand pounds more than list price (literally all of them are way over list after a year on sale). I don’t have much of an insight into the production size/demand for a new defender, but it feels a bit like even after a few years they could be in demand.

A few lease deals seem to be starting to pop up. Gateway2Lease have a base 110 at about £550 a month amortised for 48 months, other lengths etc availed too.I think new Defenders will hold their value very nicely indeed compared to mainstream alternatives and also probably compared to Range Rovers. But I am not fully sure in what volumes they will sell, and that will have a bearing on future values. For now, I think they will be a great buy because they have great branding, fresh kerb appeal, and alternatives are either tired or lower-specced.
Land Rover have done really well with this new model, I take my hat off to them. Let’s hope the L405 replacement is the same quantum leap!
