Is it just me or is it all going a bit far now?
I am all for the equality of the sexes and essentially equality of opportunity, there seems to be (to me at least) an overkill on it all now.
I am old fashioned I know, I am also a realist and I am sure I will get shot into flames for even suggesting it - but for me at least, there is too much militancy in too many quarters that seem to want to force equality of outcome not just opportunity.

LinkedIn and Facebook for sure - demanding that unless all roles are 50:50 representation = men are bad and suppressing women. Where did you see it?

On the surface I love the fact they are promoting equality of opportunity and there are some really inspiring posts.
Then dig in to a few of the posts, the followers and their agendas...

The unspoken issue is - when people couple up and decide to start a family, by nature the woman has to shoulder most of the burden; carry the child, give birth, take several months maternity etc.
Its unfortunate that the normal child-bearing age, (20's-30's), is the same time that you can best advance in your chosen profession. A lot of women who have kids must be annoyed as they watch from the sidelines as people get promoted above them through no fault of their own.

I think you can always point to examples of people and policies that can appear extreme on almost anything.

You could apply it to almost anything, race, religion, sexuality, veganism, all the usual things that seem to come up on here as being "rampant" issues.

I think personally that modern feminism is so misguided because it wants to make women more like men. It is not therefore arguing for equality but saying there is something wrong with being a woman.
We will have true equality between the sexes when the roles women traditionally play in society are equally valued to the roles men traditionally play.
