As someone that has worn Transitions coated specs for more years than I care to remember, please be aware these lose the affect over time, and are not a for life type idea.
Fair point but typically my visors last a year or less from stone chips anywaysI have one and I still miss my built in sun visor (now got an NXR). The only issue I have is in the summer in dappled lighting - it's fine when your'e in the shade, and it's fine when your'e in the sun, but when you're in the sun looking into the shady bit I can't see a thing. I'm comparing it to my old visor which was an iridium one (I know they look at bit 80's but they cut the glare and I didn't have the same issue.
Way better than just a clear visor though and no need to carry 2 visors for night/day if you're away.

These look a far better idea than the Pinlock insert that is supposed to do the same thing. It was useless.
I think that's because some visors probably block a lot of the UV that the insert would require to work. The Shoei photochromic visors themselves aren't cheap, a quick google shows current prices in the £150 - £200 range. Plus the cost of a pinlock if you need it as well.
Mine needs replacing again as it's scratched/chipped.
I got mine on deal with my RYD for £90 and I think the price has gone up, it was around £130 back then and now they go for around £160-£200. While I think it's a great visor £130 was pushing it for me, the current price is waaaay too much for the benefit IMO, I sometimes prefer just using one of the tinted visors instead as on the odd occasion it doesn't tint as dark due to not enough UV outside
