Just wired my ipod into the aux in connector on the back of the factory fit headunit. Takes about 10 mins and the wiring kit was 30 quid in HMV and included lots of unnecessary rubbish. The important parts were the cigarette lighter charger, and the phono to headphone out connector.

Just thought I'd mention how easy it is in case anyone was wondering about getting it done in time for lemans.

The sony head unit is trivial to remove (unclip black surround by sliding it sideways and then up). You then push in the clip on each side of the head unit and slide it out. The cable can then be attached to the aux in and fed back through the facia where it will emerge above the fuse box. It can then be routed to the map pocket where you can store the ipod.

Wish I'd got around to doing it a while ago!

Dear Dan,
Well done, I knew it had to simple. If you can literaly plig an Ipod into the stereo at home using the headphones out you must be able to plug it in to an other device. Sounds like a brilliantly simple solution. All I need now is a radio in mine!
