Not an advertisement.

The time has come to concede defeat and pack up. The bike has covered just 100 miles in the past two years and I simply can't find the time to put into it. Nor am I motivated to make the time, which says it all in my book.

What's the most cost effective way to sell up? Anyone been through something similar? eBay is obvious choice but the unavoidable paypal fees are excessive to say the least. Is gumtree still full of thieves and chancers? Where else?

All my kit is quality branded kit from Airoh helmet, fox wet and dry kit, KTM kit, Gaerne boots, body armour, rip n roll goggles, the list goes on. Should I list individually or is there any money in a job lot?

What about the bike? I have a 2015 KTM excf 350 six days with tubliss, hardwired powered Garmin montana mount, heated grips, cycra guards, kreiga fender mounted tool bag, on and on. Am I better splitting it or is it just not worth the effort?

I'm packing up because I have little time outside or a role that sees me fly 2 - 6 times a week and three kids that keep me busy at the weekend. I don't particularly want to spend hours selling this off, but neither do I want to give it all away! What's the path of least resistance and greatest return?

They are mutually exclusive

Yes FB groups and scumtree are still full of thieves and chancers

I prefer Ebay - yes you have to accept 4% paypal fees on posted stuff but wait a week and there should be a "sell for a £1" offer (not for your bike)

Whilst Auction may be fastest, I tend to sell as classifieds / BIN, grouped items never make a good return - people want different things / sizes to you.

Take the trick bits off and sell separately in my experience - you will make more.

I agree. Put it back to original and sell the bits as individual items.

As for the bike I sold my Yamaha WRF 250 on Ebay and it went well. Remember to time the auction to send on a Sunday evening when most chaps are home. I always pick around 8 to 9 pm. Always do it as a £1 no reserve auction.

Having just bought my first green lane bike, I’m looking for all the stuff you’re selling!

Are you a member of the Trail Riders Federation? I think their mag does ads for stuff for sale.
