After reading a few threads on here, I feel inspired to add something about one of my cars, an E46 M3 CS.

It is my third car and I bought it on a whim as I have always had a soft spot for the E46 M3 having had a standard car in 2006 as well as a CSL which I had always regretted selling.

Anyway, after speaking to a friend of mine in December 2018, he notified me of a chap selling an IB CS with a cinnamon interior. My son had just been born and the idea was to be sensible and get a more practical car (at the time I also had a Z3M coupe which is still have an a C63 estate which I sold a while back). But for some reason I just couldn’t shake this car out of my mind.

Anyway, the deal was done and I picked it up in Jan 2019 and it’s been sat in storage with the occasional drive to get an MOT as well as the bearing shells done.

I also added a CSL bootlid and had the thing detailed and may start using it in the summer unless someone convinces me to sell it.

Here are some photos:

Hope you like it !

What a car! Love the colour and the interior colour. Sensational. Keep it mint and mechanically sound as I bet she is a keeper.

Yep not an ounce of rust. Bmw repainted the front end under warranty prior to the 12 year paint warranty expiring due to both front wings being f’uked.

There are a number of blues on the M3 and this is one of the best.

That's a lovely colour combo too.

I've been really enjoying driving mine again, to the extent I'm having to pull myself away from driving it, albeit with less reasons to these days. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I am enjoying mine at the moment smile.

Really nice, especially with that interior colour..

Ive wanted a CSL for ages but the prices are out of my reach at the moment, i thought about one of these as a weekend toy but even these are pretty strong money. Im still undecided on an E46 or an E92.

damn near perfect in that combo.
ive had a couple of e46 M's in past, thinking about going back to them this year. My heart always skips when I see one on the road.

Thought I would add a few more photos relating to things that I had done to the car or out and about !

Posing with a McLaren in SW1, no Ulez for me!

About to drop off the wheels to get done at Fa Wheels in West Hampstead, great guys

Wheels - the finish is exceptional and at a very good price - it is worth retaining the silver finish on the original CS / CSL wheels as it compliments the body work in my opinion

Up on stands waiting for the new refurbed wheels to be stuck on

Mucky after a drive showing the CSL bootlid, jury is out on that but will retain it for now

After reading m3cutters for about a week regarding shell replacement, I took the plunge and used Munich Power near Redhill, Jim is one of the best BMW techs around and I have used all the Indys in my 15 years of owning M cars.
The shell replacement showed that the old shells were fine but can be seen as a purely preventative measure given the horror stories you read about. I toyed with APR bolts but decided to stick with OEM as they lasted many thousands of miles before !

It’s been a while since I posted.

I lent the car to a good buddy of mine who put its through its paces in Wales

Time for some mechanical work to keep it in tip top shape.

Front brakes, a new caliper, brake lines as well as a few other bits were needed as well as a fresh MOT.

The insides of the wheels were also cleaned, why not eh?!

All work completed by Uvis who runs Ultimate Velocity based near Aldershot.

Great looking car and colour combination. This is still in my dream wish to own and prices for good ones like these are rapidly rising just like most other sought after modern classics today. Enjoy and keep updating when you can!
