Ok so it may not be weird for some but noticed something today.
Had my Vantage for 5 years so know all its little quirks.
Driving today and it seems the temp gauge taking a long time to get to its usual normal position.
It got about 1/3 of the way after much longer than normal. I stopped and watched it drop for about 30 secs then start to go back up again and eventually got to normal half way point.
Noticed this on last 2 or 3 drives.
Is my thermostat on its way out? Its a 2009 4.7 so probably due replacing anyway.

Sounds like summat’s up thermostat wise.

I have a couple of brand new Jag equivalent thermostats in the workshop AJ811788

PM me if you want one. Will be approx half the AM cost !

Cheers

The past week I’ve been having exactly the same issue.

Definitely sounds like the thermostat. Fairly easy DIY fix.

Speaking of cooling, in my 11 months of ownership of my N420 I don't think I heard the radiator fans going, ever. Not even in summer. I did not had any overheating problems, nor the temp gauge has ever climbed over half.

Are the fans really subtle, is that somewhat normal?

Just checked the AML price - £75 + VAT

If anyone wants one of the two I have I’ll do them at £25 posted to UK, which is what they cost me. Double check your part nr first though.
