Yup and bad reviews often seem to get removed somehow.
A car dealership in Southampton I am having the misfortune of dealing with continually gets 1 star reviews, but after a few days they disappear. Either you can appeal bad reviews or they just bribe the negative review makers into removing them.
I get frustrated with a lot of reviews and how it can affect small business, small pub near us has good reviews, then some nugget started complaining about not being able to sit outside every time they’ve visited because it’s been raining , the pub forgot to control their weather
Then the same person complained that they couldn’t get an outside table when turning up on august bank holiday weekend, both times leaving 1 out of 5.
Obviously sensible people can read through the comments and separate the moronic reviews, but often if in a rush, you only read the reviews of say the top 3 scoring establishments and choose that way
If you want a laugh (cry) read reviews of police stations and then follow the reviewers to see what else they have to say about other places

Very true, need to take them with a pinch of...umm...salt....But an overwhelming positive or overwhelming negative review does help make informed decisions :-)

too many fake reviews as well. Also no place can satisfy everyone all the time. But an overwhelming positive or overwhelming negative review does help make informed decisions :-)
