Hello all,

After a bit of advise please....

I signed a contract with a company (Not saying names) back in January for a car to be delivered in March. There had been a delay for whatever reason (nothing to do with me) and it is potential going to be delivered after the 2020 VED increases are introduced. Should the charges be passed on to me? I don't think so for the following reasons:

The lease company pays the VED duty anyway
I signed a contract from x amount per month

Thoughts...??

Thanks

Begall

Should state on your paperwork. Maybe look on their website again and see what they are quoting now? All the leases I've been looking at recently they are saying VED will increase and they'll pass that cost onto me. Others have calculated it into their costs.

This is another reason why I think I'll wait for the new pricing to come out in Q2 so there are no surprises.

The lease company purchase the VED and is worked in to your payments, so you're paying for it

As for the second point, I'd be surprised if there wasn't a clause in the contract allowing them to vary the payments for this very reason
