Recommended brokers / platforms? (moving away from IG)

I wanted to gather folks' recommendations on which broker or platform you are finding to be best?
I'm currently with IG and quite disappointed - any time there is any kind of volatility they have a whole myriad of issues, lock outs, system problems, etc. As a result many peeps in their community lose money during stressed scenarios.
I'm looking preferably for one with Direct Market Access (DMA) and low/no monthly fees.
Who do you folks find best?
