Cheap / expendable phone for sports

Evening all,

After successfully destroying my iPhone 11 pro a week ago in a crash (replacement via AppleCare), it might be sensible for me to buy a cheap phone to throw the sim in when I need to (basically sports stuff).

What I'd 'need': phone, texts, Strava and WhatsApp. Ideally not big either.

Cheap old iPhone off eBay or a cheapy Chinese thing (which appeals for obvious stupid reasons)? Whaddya think?

Whatever you buy, surely a ruffy tuffy case would be needed? Maybe check out which are the toughest cases and see where that takes you regarding choice of smartphone.

I’d be tempted to stick with some sort of iPhone to save learning another OS.

I've got a Blackview 6000. Cost about £120 from China via Amazon and seems to be pretty much indestructible, waterproof, fireproof, bombproof etc. I've never had the latest model i-phone or whatever to compare it with but it seems to do everything that I've ever asked it to. I used to keep my phone in a waterproof bag when doing watersports, but this one I just leave in my pocket, even done some underwater photography while snorkelling.

Edited to add:- I've checked, mine is about 4 years old now but they're still selling them . Down to about £80 now.
