I don't understand why the pound is going down against the euro? I appreciate the current virus problem, but all indications are that the impact is greater in Europe, so why is the pound not improving against the euro?

Forgive me, Ive read through that thread and it doesn't become clear (to me at least) why the uk is suffering more than Europe?

Simply because the cut in interest rates mean that UK sterling is less attractive to investors.There are wider more complex issues of course but that is a simple explanation.
