I've obviously not read this front to back but I'm sure it will be quite interesting for some.

I'm currently deciding on what boots to purchase. As much as I'd prefer the convenience and aesthetics of something more casual (eg Alpinestars J-6) this backs up the idea of getting a proper boot, should the worst happen.

Depends on your definition of worst. Mine has me dead and not worrying about my feet and ankles.

Some cheerful bedtime reading. I'll forward it on to my Mum.

Yeah, several reports found that our feet and legs are most often injured. Ideally, we should all wear boots that are CE rated to 2/2/2/2.

We should all wear leather trousers too, because textile trousers' knee armour mightn't stay in the right place in a crash. Also, leather trousers act as a splint and that can make quite a difference.

Has this cheered you up? smile

Thanks for sharing, I've not read the full document yet, but my favorite part so far is from Annex I: Comments from riders who were hit while stationary;

"He hit my bike on the front wheel and pushed the bike and me over and still kept reversing as the car ran up the bike and trapping my right leg between his car and the carburator of the bike, the bike ended up on the floor trapping me and dislo-cating my shoulder. The driver got out the car and came to the back and said "sorry I never saw you" I said "get your fking car off my legs you absolute Cockwomble! "

I like this one

"I pressed rear brake so I could slide down to get under a fence. But then there was a height difference of about 2 meters, zo de motorcycle fell in water and I flew over on land. "
