Hello
I have an issue with a German supply company, they have a web site for each country in Europe, including the UK, but the stock listed on the German web site will only get shipped to Germany, and the stock on the UK web site will only get shipped to the UK… etc.…
However the German web site has LOADS more stock listed than the UK. The stock that IS listed on both sites, is cheaper in Germany - sometimes by quite surprising amounts. The stock would just be on a pallet.

According to the German chap on the phone, if I can arrange for the stock to be sent to a location in Germany, and then forwarded on to me in the UK - all is well.

Is there a way of getting stock shipped to a location in Germany and then getting it sent to me in the UK? Some kind of freight forwarding service. Does anyone know of such a service or an agent?

PH came up trumps on the business insurance front, so I’m hoping it will on this one…

ex Freight Forwarder here of 15years.

Yes, service does exist. Normally the freight forwarder would collect from the supplier, consolidate with other freight at their depot and run various trucks per week to the UK for distribution.

Europa Worldwide
Kuehne + Nagel
Various others via Google search for "Germany to UK groupage transport"

As Alba says.

But you might also want to try FedEx (TNT) or DHL who might also offer decent rates if it's a regular thing.

If you're in no time sensitive hurry, then groupage is the way to go.

Absolutely Tyre Smoke, good shout. Parcel Couriers are far better for smaller items.

I assumed it would be of a quantity that woudl require pallet transport.

I have used agile global logistics to do something similar for me in a previous venture
