What do we think guys, if this carries on, just cannot see how it can go ahead, especially as 70% of patrons are the over 50s. If it does go ahead I will go, anyone else feel the same. I posted in here as it’s a subject close to us

I'm guessing, of course, but given that it's two weeks away it seems likely that everyone will be so wary of being in large-scale events that it won't be viable to hold it. It's a great shame, but the alternative is probably worse.

I was planning to go with my dad, currently in a bit of a "see how things go" mood about it. I'm not especially worried myself, but his septuagenarian status makes me go "ummm..." a bit as to whether it's a great idea, and half the point is spending time with him a bit.

I was going to pre book my ticket but held off to see if it was still going ahead, think have got till 27th for discounts, so wait and see but it does look less likely to proceed as time goes on; not sure how much capacity there is at nec to reschedule

Yes that’s going to be a big problem as In Nov it’s the Classic Car Show and during the Summer months people are booked in for the their local usual car shows. Cannot see any way they could hold it until June time at the earliest, presuming the NEC could accommodate. It’s a mess, make no mistake.

Received an email an hour ago stating the show will be open for business at this time, but I suppose if the government bad gathering’s over 500 it will be cancelled.

The event team have been continually monitoring the latest public health and government guidelines regarding the evolving COVID-19 situation and acting in accordance with their advice.

The safety and wellbeing of our visitors, exhibitors, partners, contractors and staff is the most important factor and therefore the only action for all involved is to postpone.

We are working with the NEC to find suitable options to reschedule the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show with Discovery, please bear with us as we work to secure a new date line.

Just found that to, not surprising in the circumstances, hopefully another date can be found but I guess will be tight as loads of other shows in same situation plus the other stuff already slotted in

Yes I think it may be too near the Main Classic Car Show in November. Not surprised given the circumstances.

Think they charge a lot more for the car show as opposed to the restoration show, so no doubt it would get priority and it’s probably not achievable to combine due to space required

On a similar note, loads of local car shows have been postponed and there's a bit of a bunfight to re-schedule and claim free dates at the back end of the show season.

NEW DATES 7-9 August all being well

Does not matter what day your ticket was for, with the new dates you can use it any day you choose
