And no it's not the Coronavirus.

I clipped the right side putting it into the garage, the ppf saved a lot but not enough,
how bad is this to you body shop guys or is it a new wing

that's not a new wing IMO
depending on your attitude to such things, you may even get away with a smart repair.
re-PPF'ing it will cost more than the repair...

We all make mistakes, dont beat yourself up over it. If you have a good bodyshop nearby take a drive over there and have a chat with them, chances are its cheaper to repair a small scrape but it might be hard to match the paint. If you're keeping it till you die just patch it up but if you want to sell it next year a new wing may be a bettter long term solution.

Widen the entrance to reduce the possibility or recurrence?

That's seriously st luck, I did the same thing with a Audi TT years ago. One of those things that you know you've done, but just don't want to look.

Is it just paint damage or has it creased the metal, it's hard to tell from the photo ? I'd be fairly surprised it that was a new wing though to be honest. What colour is it ?

This is the exact reason I went from this:

I had much less damage than that on mine but because the wing had been cracked (it's composite) the Aston place that I used and have huge respect for insisted that it could not be repaired so a new wing and paint blending etc. would be needed at a cost of over £4K!

I took it to a local body shop that I know any they repaired it and painted the wing for £600, it looked absolutely perfect and in the year that I kept the car after that it showed no signs of deterioration which is what the Aston shop predicted. I think the key to this was the fact that the repair involved bonding a shaped piece of aluminum under the crack to stop it from moving.

Good luck getting yours sorted.

Oh man, I have been there, not quite the same thing but the day after picking up my brand new Abarth reversing into the garage only to catch the wing mirror on the wall, scratching it and embedding some white paint into the black cover. Horrible feeling!

I dropped a motorcycle on to one of my wings and put a big hole in it and felt physically sick, you have my sympathy. Yours is defo fixable for under £1k, and maybe a lot less as your damage doesn’t look as bad, the main issue will be how far they have to paint spray to blend in the repair to the existing paint, hopefully not much.

Don't fret, thats easily repairable. By reinforcing the area behind with fibreglass, the outside can then easily be repaired and the wing painted. They may blend into the door and bonnet though. If this can be done.......Cutting and flaring DB9 wings to suit DBS bumpers instead of bending the DBS bumpers in...

Get it properly repaired and get it done quickly. Despite the cost you will be a happier bunny once it is done.

I picked up a Range Rover Sport in December and last month reversed it into a metal post. Had it repaired within a week. Poorer but happier.

Really sorry to see your car's damage. I've just been through a similar experience. I agree with the other posts, get it fixed as soon as you can, the damage to mine detracted the enjoyment of owning and driving it.

Now it's fixed I feel whole again.

Hope you find a good body shop and your repair works out as well as mine has.

I know the feeling, but this can be easily repaired for not too much money.

Get a few decent quotes and away you go smile

Like many others, I've been there too. Reversing out the garage, various sensors beeping left right and centre, you sort of switch off to them until that stomach churning crunch. Managed to scrape the rear wing wheel arch on my Cali T against my daughters car. Ouch. Thought it would cost a mint but main dealer smart repair for under £100. Replacement of PPF significantly more. Know how you must feel and hope you manage to get it sorted without it creating too big a hole in your pocket.
